"It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." -Lam. 3:22-23
For those of you who haven't heard, I got engaged last weekend to a wonderful man named Matthew Schulz. :) I am very happy and peaceful about taking this new step in faith and believe it was the work of the Lord that brought us together.
For those of you who have heard, here is the picture you are all patiently awaiting! :) This was the first time we saw each other at his house after the announcement. He had a dozen roses waiting for me!
It has been a lot of fun getting to know him better the past few days and I am excited to spend the rest of my life with him!
To answer a few questions that I am often getting asked:
1. Introduction please?
His name is Matthew (Matt) Schulz and he is a 2006 graduate of Mediapolis and a 2010 electrical engineering graduate from Iowa State University. He works in Muscatine at Stanley Consultants and recently bought Todd and Kim's house in the country just north of Mediapolis. He goes to our church in Burlington and belongs to Gary and Melody Schulz. I am entering into a very wonderful (and large!) family!
2. Wedding Plans?
October 20, 2013...it's going to be a busy ten weeks! The colors are hopefully going to be lavender and eggplant (or as my brothers call it, light purple and dark purple). My bridesmaids are Abby (cousin), Alyssa (cousin), Olivia (friend), Erika (cousin), and Kendra (cousin), and his groomsmen are Jacob (brother), Andrew (brother), Travis (cousin), Nathan (cousin), and Billy (my brother). That is about as far as we have gotten with wedding plans. :)
3. What about school?
This question is hard to answer because I don't really know yet. I know I will not be returning to the University of Iowa, but I am not sure what will happen from there. I hope to wait until after the wedding to make any decisions. I know people are concerned about me leaving the big UI, but I am confident and peaceful that this is the Lord's will and that He will provide for our needs in His own time.
I think those are the three things people seem to be most concerned about. I would love to talk to anybody who wants to call sometime! I am looking forward to the next couple months of preparing for this wedding and the marriage that will follow. God has been so faithful and I am so thankful for His love and direction!
Have a good week!

You are blessed! Best wishes <3 Abby West
