Boiled Peanuts!

Well, we turned back around and headed out (enjoying the great Florida scenery, of course-much different and more wet than Iowa!) until we came to our second stand for boiled peanuts! Hey, that’s the second stand for boiled peanuts we’ve seen today! Dad thinks. They must be good! If anything, it’ll be a great southern experience! So, of course, we stopped at the peanut stand. I think the two men at the stand had actually grown their own peanuts, and then they sold at least ten different flavors. It was really interesting and I’m sure they had no difficulty discovering that we were from out of town with our cameras and faces up to the window the entire time Dad was sampling and making his purchase! He ended up getting a bag of regular and a bag of buffalo boiled peanuts. They seemed rather messy so we didn't try them until we get home. (And they really weren't too bad! Interesting...but not bad.) In the meantime, Dad also got some advice from the man about how to kill time on our way. So we took the scenic route home through Florida's back country. 

This was the boiled peanut stand...there is a different flavor in each pot!
