This morning, we woke up and left our house at about 8:00 to get on our way to church in Sarasota. Before we got to church, we drove around town and Dad showed us around where he used to live back in 7th grade. We saw his house, his school, and a few other highlights. He was amazed at how much things have changed since 30 years ago...they were just building the interstate when he was here, if that says anything!
We got to church and met a lot of new people, and a lot of people Dad had known from years ago. We met Jeff, the elder, who was only a couple years older than Dad. Also, the minister Eric was there from Princeville and he had the morning sermon. At noon, we met Elda, Vera, and Mary who told us we could go to their condo for the afternoon on Siesta Key beach. We were planning to go to the beach anyway, but this worked out even better.
It was great to visit another one of our churches and meet new people! It's nice to have the privilege to visit other churches during our travels!
